Does it violate Google AdSense policy if I promote my blog or site through the emails sent through Yahoo Mailing List (yahoo groups)? I don't ask the mail recipients to click on the link taking them to my site nor asking them to click on the Google Ads AT ALL, I just put it as a 'source' of the article or news I put in the emails or as signature or reference.

At first I thought it was a good idea to bring traffic, but I was worried that this could violate AdSense policy due to one of AdSense's rules as follow:

"To ensure a positive experience for Internet users and Google advertisers, sites displaying Google ads may not:

* Use third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf and click-exchange programs.
* Be promoted through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites"

Do you think the second statement includes emails sent through yahoo mailing groups?

Its fine when it comes to Adsense but then Yahoo group mod may take action against you.

So, which bit of

yes, that part ("unsolicited mass emails") really puzzles me, since I think sending emails through yahoo mailing list is considered as mass emails.

What do you think of it? I'm really worried since I've been sending sooooo many emails through @yahoogroups.com.

yes you can by doing yahoo groups posting.It help me to drive more target traffics just join those groups that is populated.

This is not a good thing. Google detect easily from where visitors come. If it see that many visitors came from mail adresses and that visitors click on ads it could say "that is against TOS. In mail the owner said - Click on ads". Your account can be easily suspended.

I will suggest to not do it, ifs not much important to you. And in case you really want to do this, then you should first send an email to adsense to confirm if this is allowed: this is to be on the safe side.

i agree with what they have said. promoting your website through email is not good. if you want to promote your website its better to link them through forums and blog by just posting a comment related to the topic and you should not post spammed comments so your site will not be banned.. the good thing about linking your site is that you can drive more traffics and can increase the page rank of the site..

I agree, I doubt that this kind of move which is sending mass email will be considered legit. Although I'm not sure, its still best if you make query on google to be sure.

Ya that comes under mass mailing, but I dont think that google will be able to track such mails (its almost impossible for them to trace content for every email )

well. its adsense policy that you cand add your code in mails. but its ok to promote you site.
Be careful follow the mail group rules, send mails relevant to group. Make good mails
and then just drop a small link of your site at signature. also use your email with domain id

I think you can promote it by yahoo groups, But never ask users to click on your ads.
