I am a new member of this forum.

I have some questions:

Can I put adsense ads on a website/blog that has drug related content on it? I don't sell drugs or anything...I just want to make a blog where I will post information about drugs (effects, risks, stories, real facts and so on)

Will I be banned if I will do this? I never earned something with adsense, and my account is one year old (I wasn't interested, but now I am).

Also, how many backlinks do you need to be in the first serps, for micro niche keywords? (2 word phrases, more than 5000 monthly searches, but less than 50000 google results...I have a list of 101 such keywords, and I also sell it if someone is interested)

I dont think Google has any problems about what kind of site you have when it comes to putting adwords on your site, but if you are concerned go to the google webmasters forum and you should get definative answer.

With regards how many backlinks you will need, there is no specific answer because there are too many variables such as where the links are, how many back links do other sites on first page of serps have for that keyword, how old are their sites compared to yours, are their sites optimised for those words better than your site etc.

I have a low search volume, 3 word phrase that I got to number 4 on Google search with very little onsite optimisation and I estimate less than 100 back links. You might be lucky too but then again you might not.

Sites with Google ads may not include or link to:

• Pornography, adult or mature content
• Violent content
• Content related to racial intolerance or advocacy against any individual, group or organisation
• Excessive profanity
• Hacking/cracking content
• Gambling or casino-related content
• Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia content
• Sales of beer or hard alcohol
• Sales of tobacco or tobacco-related products
• Sales of prescription drugs
• Sales of weapons or ammunition (e.g. firearms, firearm components, fighting knives, stun guns)
• Sales of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods
• Sales or distribution of coursework or student essays
• Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails
• Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

It is quite vague on whether sites that are not pro-drugs are allowed. If you had an account that earned any money, I would advise you to stay away from this topic. Even if you do not care about that acount now, you'd better keep it clean for future use. I doubt this niche would earn you lot's of money, so it is not advisable to risk your account for this.
