I've recently created a national webblog (i.e. in my own language) - with some fun daily updated content.

Anyway, I put one google adsense box up on my site, didn't want to clutter or give the impression of a tachy site.

So far, I've done a bit to promote the site, via RL friends and people on facebook etc. (It's important to say here, that I did NOT actively encourage them to click anything, exept the main content on the site.) And thus far, according to google, I have about 100-200 impressions a day with a click rate of about 10-15 clicks. Landing me somewhere along 8$ a day.

I find this to be a somewhat high rate (I could be wrong though?). From reading here, it should be somewhat lower than this.

Heres the deal tho, I know of 1 friend who litterally told me something along the lines of "Hey man great site, nice layout blah blah. And ofc. I made sure to click on your ad " It was obvious he was familiar with the adsense programme.

My question here is, since I did nothing to encourage him to do this, am I breaking the rules? Worst case scenario he does this daily, and I would have no way of knowing this. Until google actually bans my account. On the other hand it would seem silly of me, to actively discourage friends etc. to use the ads if they find them interesting.

What do you guys think?

Just tell your friends and family not to click the ads to inflate your clicks unless they are interested in the product for real. And that will save you from worrying if you are going to get banned from adsense.
