I just logged into my AdSense and todays estimated earnings were 20-30 more then I average in a day!!! I rapidly went from excitement to panick.

I quickly logged into anaytics to see a huge spike in traffic (7000+) to one particular page. I checked the source and it was mainly "direct traffic" from unique visitors. I also noticed a lot (1000+) from various email clients (yahoo, gmail, etc). I assume the page URL was added to some mailing without my concent...and who would do this anyway?

I contacted Google immediately via the online support in AdSense, but is there a direct email address that anyone knows about? Please advise!

Maybe a company selected your site as a great site to recommend to its customers, traffic can only mean a positive thing providing its legit

Keep your head up and keep improving and making that traffic want to return again and again and your adsense can improve even more

This may be the case, but an "unsolicited" emailing is against the TOS. Does anyone know the direct adsense support email address? In the meantime, I think I need to remove the ads from this page to be safe.

I am also experiencing increased traffic and earnings these days but not in the thousands. I am still observing my stats for a few days then I am going to contact Google too if I can see some "unnatural" traffic sources.

I am going to watch this thread as I am also interested in contacting Adsense people.

Well I am no longer concerned. I was contacted by someone about a minor bug in the tool on the page getting all the traffic. I replyed and asked how they found the tool, and it was from an opt-in news letter. They sent me a copy, and sure enough, someone added a link to the tool, along with other tools from other sites in a news letter through iEntry. So I was given a gift, and now have proof incase there is a problem.

Well, that is still a good news for you. You got lots of traffic in your site because of that tool.

It wouldn't make any difference to Adsense, the refers do not pass through Adsense so it would only show as a traffic spike with no indication where it came from, which is quite normal for the majority of websites.

Even with AdSense and Analytics being connected? At any rate, I have proof (just incase) that It wasn't spam. Thanks Chris.

They are actually only connected from your POV (In your account)
