Hi guys

I used to have adsense on my site http://www.usearchme.com but i was asked to remove the ads, as people were doing searches for adult keywords ouch lol. It also had a section showin the recent searches so it had some adult keywords on there.

Ive removed the recent searches and thinking of adding an adult keyword filter to my search, is there anything else people could suggest to make this more adsense friendly ? or maybe any alternative way to monetise it ?

If i block the adult words, people could still search for other stuff couldnt they to affect the adsense, like hacking etc ?
Does seem a bit strange for them to ask me to remove their ads when im using their search index to produce results for my search engine **hmumpf ***

Unfortunately if you want to use adsense you have to play by their rules. If they don't want the ads on there then you have to comply. What you have to look at is how much traffic do you stand to lose by dropping that content from your site? If it will be a slight drop then it may be worth it. If the adult searches or "non-adsense friendly" material makes up the core of your traffic, then you might want to go with a different company. You could always do a 180 and go straight for the smut market, then use Black Label Ads for revenue. They are part of AdBrite but serve "adult" oriented sites.

Good Luck

Hi there

I dont really have a problem blocking the adult stuff, the thing that worrys is if I block every adult word I can think of (which isnt easy), are they going to say I need to block other stuff too ! which could mean im gonna have an endless battle blocking words, not really that easy for me to control what people search for unfortunatly.

I could try other ads, but usually the payouts are so poor I get fed up of using them lol

If you don't have a problem blocking the adult content then start up a block. If Google comes back and gives you a hard time about it you then have proof that you as a publisher are trying to comply. You've made an honest effort and can't really possibly know ALL the adult keywords that people are searching for. Besides, their own system is supposed to be catching that as well. When I write articles that have language that goes a bit too far the system will throw PSA ads in the spots instead of regular ads. So the governing is supposed to be built in by Google. Give it a shot and see.

Thanks for the reply, Im in the process of updating my site and dont see a problem blocking the keywords.

However does anyone know what I do after this ? as Ive removed my adsense ads, but when ive completed the changes what do i do ?

Do i just ad the ads again or do I have to request a review or something ? as teh adserving to my site has been stopped.
