Well it has been officially one month with google adsense and here are the numbers:

Income: $64.05 = $2.14/day


How does that compare to everyone else? I feel like my CTR is extremely low, which would tend to drag down the rest of the numbers.

dude, posting direct stats like that is a violation of the TOS. If you want to keep making money off of it then you should delete your post.


As for the CTR, it's a little low but the general average on the net is usually less than .4%, so you're at least in the ballpark. Your CPM is pretty good though.

TOS of who? Google? Can someone confirm that? We are not here to violate any TOS, we are just getting started with this and want to know how we compare so we can make adjustments like different ad placement, etc if our numbers look really bad.

You can give generalizations but not specifics. Specifics you can share with someone in conversation but I wouldn't post it on an open forum. I can say though that my site is usually between .2 and .3 monthly. That isn't a violation.

To give you an idea of CTR on the net. I recently ran two campaigns on facebook. The CTR there was between .03 and .06.

What is your traffic like? Do you have a lot of uniques or is it mostly multiple page views per user? Uniques will help you get a higher CPM.

We average around 270 unique users a day, per google-analytics with average pages/visit of 28.69. A lot of these are from jquery partial page refreshes which don't refresh the ads.

My average ad requests range from 1500-2000 per day, which I serve two ads per page, so that would work out to 5-8 actual full page refreshes per day. Note though that avg time on site is 45 minutes per day.

We have moved up in the search engines which is giving us more people from search engines and my income per day has been more steady with a slight upward trend. I don't know if that is because people that find our site through search engines tend to be more prone to click on a colorful ad or not, but I'm not complaining.

Which numbers? I removed the ad sense specific stats. The only remaining ones are ranges or from analytics which aren't limited by TOS.

Mike, as for your stats, you're doing pretty well given the number of uniques you're getting. If you increase that number you'll see a good increase on revenue. Being a game site helps because the ads for that niche generally pay higher than other topics.

Anything I pull from analytics is not a problem. The only two pieces of information I see from adsense is an estimate for the amount I make per day and a broad range for the number of ads I serve per day. Neither of those I see as an issue. Do you see something else I'm not seeing?

I think google is concerned about ctr, cpc, etc. not what someone says they made or a broad range on the ads they served. If everyone got nailed for listing how much they were making or for example how long it took them to make their first $100, no one would be serving ads.

The CTR, CPM, and CPC are the main ones they don't want you to disclose since that gives insight into the inner workings of the program. But they want people to talk about how much they make because that spreads the word for the program and encourages people to join. Word of mouth advertising is always the best.
