It depends on the category of sites. If you are a card site you probably have less advertisers than if you are computer goods site.

For example with one site, i make about 5$-20$ . I have maximum 200 uniques per day at this moment.

You can make eays 100$/day with 5 good sites, that are having about 200 uniques/day each.

If the visitors are not targeted you will not make a cent.

I had a half dozen clicks and made more than three, but less than five dollars on one site. But I have to think that has to do with the subject of the site, which was/is Caribbean Cruises. Indirectly yes. The ads shown on your site is based on the topic and keywords of the page and if it has some high paying keywords then your CPC can increase considerably.

I have seen that when your site is having a increase of traffic, the cost per click is higher.

It is verry hard to catch the keyword, because the ads are showed random, and you must have smoe content on your site.

If you spam the keyword on your site, they can ban you.

So my advice is to let the things come naturally.

Someone posted the Top paying adsense keywords on my forum, I dont know how accurate these are though.

But as i was told a few months ago by someone in SEO i respct, If you are going to build a site with the intention of displaying top paying adsense ads at least offer the visitors some quality relevent infoirmation as well.
