I can't tell about my sites but I can help you about ads placing if you have traffic enough (of course free)

the most important thing releated your earning is which subject your site is about.

you can't earn much money with a site about printer services.
also you should use opposite colors for Adsense Ads with your template.

the more ads you locate, the less you earn.

I mean that

I never use Ads code more than only 1.
because if you use more than one , money for click will be less.

if you use only one, Google Adsense shows only valuable ads these give you much more money for clicks.

my adsense is new and on track doing like 130 to 150$ per month from http://www.jean.ghalo.com and http://www.beirutnightlife.com .

so i think it is fair enough for the beggining.

I have made 50$ in 5 months.

Everybody boast off like saying "I earn $600" and all. But who knows ? No one has ever revealed how they make it. I mean, I earn only $15. Wish I could earn more.

between 900-1200 u.s per month with Google, but shhh Don't tell anyone I actually make 40-50 us a day with Zango (so Zango is making more than Adsense).

mm, I was making 50 -100 usd a month, but its just dropped to half that even though traffic and clicks are around the same

Well, Joel Comm sure know what he'd doing. But he several high traffic sites. The income didn't just come from one site. Traffic is the king.

There's this guy, Michael Cheney, who claims he makes thousands and thousands of dollars from AdSense a month. He's got a site called www.adsense-videos.com. I don't know if he's really making as much money as he claims, but his claims are ridiculously high. Some of his videos are free, but you have to pay for others. If you decide to sign up, the e-mails are endless. You might be better off looking up his videos on YouTube. I saw a few of them there as well. He seems to know what he's talking about, but its hard to tell without actually seeing his method and you can't see that if you don't pay him.

Personally, I haven't made anything to speak of with AdSense, but I just started. Ask me again in 6 months to a year.

I think that's the key. If you want to earn money through it, you have to treat it like a business or at least a part time job. You've got to put in the hours to get it to where its making money. If you have a ready source of content that you're already maintaining - like a blog - then it can't hurt to add it.

I've read all kinds of success stories from people about AdSense, but they all start with "I did it wrong for XX amount of time then I started making money". If you do the research and build something that will draw quality traffic, then your click through rates will go up and so will your revenues.

That's my 2 cents, anyway...

Most webmasters make this mistake, they go to look for the money instead of looking for visitors. Getting visitors and how to keep them on your site should be the first priority in being successful online. Money should never be the issue, when visitors come, the money will follow.

I can tell you exactly which type of sites generate the most traffic... Good sites that offer something worthwhile.

I started with AdSense only a month ago and so far made aronund 15$ with average of 250 unique visitors per day. In total that would be around 12000 page impressions and not even 1% CTR. But, there is time for improvement and I can see that if traffic is good CTR is getting better - it is all in the traffic...

I started with Adsense for few month and made less than $200. Sometimes make about $8 a day, sometimes I make $0 a day. I wish I could make $10 every day!
