Ok i signed up for an adsense account. I am having trouble setting this up. First of all what shud i enter for my channels if i want to put it up on this forum's adshare program? do i need both URL channel and custom channel?

also how does the custom channel thing work. what do i put in it as a name? can u give examples?

not sure about " this forum's adshare program " thing...

but for custom channel, you can name it as you like. After creating a custome channel, you can select it when you create your adsense code (on your adsense control panel). The code will include the custom channel id.

Like adsense pro said you can name yoru custom channels anything you want. I'd suggest something that makes sense with what you're trying to measure. For example if I want to measure how well a banner ad is working on my site I might name the channel banner. If I want to specifically know how the banner ads at the bottom of my pages are doing I might name the channel bannerbottom. It's really up to you.

You don't need to add a channel if you want to join the adsense revenue sharing program on this forum, but if you want to know the details of how the ads here are working for you then you probably want to create a channel. It's really up to you though and again the name is just your choice. It's probably best to make it descriptive or what your measuring.
