I'm not sure if that's against TOS or not.

If it isn't, it's a good example of effective layout merging!

I don't see what you're talking about? Are you referring to the Adsense ads next to the column of images? How could this be against the TOS? I don't see a problem.

Because it's on the verge of pretending the ads are part of the site.

In fact, I can tell you for sure that entitling the ads "Most Popular" is definately against TOS.

Placing ads near images seems to be an effective method for many sites though there's probably a point where it crosses the line drawn by the AdSense TOS. Where that line is though I can't really say. If there's ever a question you can always contact AdSense and ask them to look at your site. I've the AdSense support team to be very helpful and while they may not always give me the response I was hoping for they do respond and usually faster than I expect.

daithahn I'm just curious since this is the AdSense forum. I noticed the ads on your site are coming from Yahoo. Were they always from Yahoo or did you run into a problem with AdSense.

We've had to get clarification about images and AdSense, as we've recently created a software product in this area.

You do need a separator between images and your AdSense ads. You must not mislead the viewer into believing the images are part of the advertisers ad.

Brian I mentioned it in another thread where you posted, but did the AdSense team mention what counts as a seperator. The TOS isn't very specific from what I remember about what would and wouldn't count.

If they gave you some specifics I'm sure it would benefit everyone. Thanks.

I think its just a trick.

The best way to know its ok or not is, ask the google adsense team (email them). Maybe just take a time to wait their response.

PS. Wow, that site have PR5.

Well, that was DEFINITELY not against the TOS. You see, Google does allow you to beautify your ADs by placing images but Google states that you must have a border of some sort to differenciate the two. And, that site had a line.

Vangogh is right. It is a good adsense technique. I've heard from my friend that he got 400% improvement in his CTR and well, money. The real test of being banned is here A Website Selling Adsense AD Backgrounds ?!. Help spread the news by digging it here.

Google make it up as they go along. Their "official position on images near adsense is that you can do it as long as there is a border round the images and they aren't done to trick users. But many webmasters are reporting a huge double standards where google have sent them emails asking them to remove the images and even when the webmster points them at the numerous sites that have had contact from google saying it's ok as long as there is a border.

So i think the idea is, Do it if you want to, But don't be surprised when google drop you a line threatening to ban you if you don't remove them.

Hey. Make it clear. Is it allowed to put images near Adsense ADs ? I mean, I have a line which divides the image from the AD. I'm not interested in what YPN has to say. But, I'm concerned about adsense.

If google can't be clear on the subject there is little chance of anyone else being able to clarify it further.
It seems some sites can and some sites can't. Google don't have any real policy regarding images near adsense.

I had to laugh, the ads showing when I looked where for acne treatment and toyota finance, just what every archade rush fan wants really. Little pictures of achade games isn,t going to make me click an acne treatment ad. A bit more content might have better results.
