After working on my site for 6 hours (updating/linking with people/promoting) I have only gotten 40 cents. A total of $1.96 in three days! That is quite depressing.

How the heck do you people do it?

I have placed my ads well, promoted correctly, added sites to directories and tried to link with others. What have I missed?

My goal is to make $10 a day.

What did you expect? Starting a website from the scratch and grabbing thousands a day? Make steady traffic on your website, you can only make your $10 if you have stable visitors flow.

I actually expected more because I've owned my site for 6 years now. I stopped updating it 2 years ago--but still maintained visitors. So now im back in the swing of things.

I work every day 2-3 hours and i get 10 $ in last month that is depresssing help me exchangel links my goal is to make 5 $ a day!!!

If your signature is your site's address then I'd rather call it a webPAGE. How many visitors do you have daily?

Man, the first and the only feeling when I open your freekat link is to close it as quickly as possible and never open it again. Try to change the layout and definitely put something really useful there. I mean something that you WOULD use for yourself not just to fill the page.

The bottom line to earning more with adsense is too get more visitors.

The positioning may help increase your CTR by a few %, But ultimately earnings are grow in relation to traffic.

My question would be...Who has better visibility? www.michellebranch.com or a geocities fan site. I don't see how you're going to generate the traffic. You did a good job setting up the ads but it seems like all you have is ads not much content at least nothing that isn't available in more high profile places.

I think I have really good content.. the michelle branch fans that have been there and visit regularly think its the best site out there for her. At least that is what I've been gettin through e-mails.

You must do something that will make your people return periodically. Maybe setup a forum for fans or post daily news or look for some stories and facts about Michelle Branch, so that your users could find something interesting EVERY time they go to your site and so that they have motivation to go there once more.

From another point, it could be reasonable to put some kind of music CDs affiliation program, like Amazon, so that people would by CDs online instead of clicking your adsense.

A forum would be a great benifit.

I do well with adsense on my forum.
More content is a must. And a static web page is a boring page.

Hey.. I liked your site. It is a lot better than the normal crappy fan site. Just a few points.

1. You have a great PR of 5, but your site is not optimized for search engines. You need to have some write ups, bio, info etc. Flash is great, but it doesnt mean anything to search engines You may better have a mixed layout(flasha nd HTML) or atleast few pages in HTML. A guest book, a small bio, favourites etc. in HTML might help. Also put some content with targetted keywords in home page. The fact is you have the PR and you must make use of it.

2. Just think about increasing traffic. If you have traffic, optimising adsense is easy.

3. A depressing fact, pay per click is low in fan sites. Both the CTR and PPC rates are low

Thanks! Unfortunately Michelle Branch isnt as big as she was years ago... when my site was very popular. Fortunately, shes coming out with a new album this spring.. so perhaps it'll give me more ways to promote and people to target.

Im not sure who to target now.. its quite a battle.

Hmmm... I can say the same.

I have ipsCounter on mine and I can see on average 100 hits a day but I don't make more than 1 dollar a day . Any advice to increase my page rank for my site:

A few suggestions forthusi02

1. Populate your forum. Get something added by yourself/friends/paid forum shock etc. Just starting a forum without much threads/content doesnt help.
2. Use the url with www in your siggies and submissions. Google treats the one with and without www separately, get it uniform in all external links.
3. is it still in sandbox? I guess so.
4. Have a target of 300 directories+1000 other links within one month(to start with). Use msn/yahoo to see how things go.
