I receive more that 2000 page impressions ever day with 15 to 18 clicks. I think you are doing good. But, it depends on how much $$$ you make, I make $10/day

Whoah, ItGuy !! Why is it so difficult to make some bucks with adsense ? I sincerely believe that its because of the tech savvy audience. I'm trying to figure out some other topic to blog about.

Of course, I won't stop blogging at Webmaster Dome. Rather, I want to start another site and earn some bucks to pay for Webmaster Dome's hosting bills so that I can completely stop adsense in Webmaster Dome. I love my current blog and its audience. I love blogging for them. I don't want to make it difficult for them by putting annoying ads.

I'm a reader in many blogs and I know how annoying it is, to have ads on the site. So, I think I can do a big favor for my readers if I disable adsense. But, is it a wise decision ? I mean, some people say that I'm under-monetizing my site. I don't know.

But I try my best to put as much low ads as possible. I wish there were some other way to make money to pay the internet bills and hosting bills.

i did not see any adsense ads on your pages . i see only "BIDVERTISER" codes

Oh, I've been trying out some testing with Bidvertiser. I've also been experimenting the reactions in my audience if I turn off Adsense. I'm getting more customer satisfaction when I turned off adsense.

I do believe that the increasing number of tech-savvy users might result in less amount of clicks. As i couldn't see how you had your adsense ads placed, try to make your content and adsense content similar looking. Use a large rectangle just above the place from where your blog posts start.

I run a kung fu site. the visitor is apparently not tech savvy. but the CTR is still very low.

I'd say ADs in general are a serious problem nowadays. And you shouldn't be very surprised to know that I run an ad blocker. I program ASP.NET applications - I'm "tech savvy" and your target market. Other words, I'm not the only one with an ad blocker.

I guess you're right about the stuff "karma as income" and the above thing. I love blogging so much and I would be really interested in having it as a job. Imagine, making a living out of the thing which you're really interested in ? Its a dream job.

And, I love meeting new people through blogging and helping them and even the whole world directly or indirectly. If it also provided me with money, it would've been a win-win situation.

Thats really informative. I would like to keep that in my mind when I get crazy about money. Talkupation added. Well, a lot of my readers have actually started asking me where the ads are and they say they love it. They love me making money from my work. How sweet ?!

Yeah I think loyal readers who've enjoyed a lot of your writing will want you to make some money for your efforts. But the keyword is loyal readers - first you have to win their loyalty. And ads don't help much with that. Once you've won the battle for hearts and minds people see it as a good thing, but until then.

I don't think readers click ads just because we were good to them. I often do it. But, I haven't anyone say that other than me. I think they click accidentally. Thats why we're forced to fool the naive users. Do you have any tips ?

Lol. Looks like this guy has a "new" discovery from his "research". lol. We're all discussing about finding new ways to make visitors click, ok ?

Well. It depends on how many visitors you have, not on how many page views. One visitor my view 200 pages of your site and never clicks. I would say if you have 100 visitors and 13 out of them click, this is a good ratio. One more thing, is 1491 page views or ad impressions?. What I am saying if you have 2 ads in a single page,Google counts this as two impressions, which means- if this is true in your case- that you have 745 page views, if you have 3 ads/page then you have <500 page views and so on.....

If you have a bunch of links to other websites, you're killing your CTR.

But providing links to other sites does provide a good resource for your visitors, helps establish trust with them, and likely leads to them coming back for more.

But you're right in the context of AdSense less links out including to your other pages will increase CTR. If the only option you give people is to click an ad or hit the back button more people will click ads than if you also had navigation.

You have to focus on the user experience, provide something that people want, and then people will return and reccommend your site, build up traffic that way. Remember the ads are for services you don't offer, people come to your site looking for something, they may click on the ads if they are interetested, or maybe not. I think the best way is design your site for ads, but don't include them to start with, after you have say 200 - 500 vistors a day, put ads in, but think about it when you do it, don't detract from the site, you will see people click on them, but your not gonna make any real money until you count your daily visitors in 1000's. I use my ads to pay for hosting and provide a small budget for targeted adwords, my real revenue comes from bookings, my target is to take the ads off, I also plan to have a number of sites, some where the a lot of the content is user generated, social networking type stuff, for those sites I would use ads, and network the sites together get cross traffic, but I think adsense is too unreliable to make it a core biz model for most people

Yeah. User experience is most important. Thats why I've been avoiding putting Adsense for over a month. I need to know how it would impact my traffic growth. If its positive, I'll try to avoid adsense as far as possible and concentrate on increasing traffic.

And, I would be using adsense only when I have a safe traffic range. How is this idea ? But, how can Adsense be influencing the traffic growth ? I don't know the reason but I'm monitoring my stats for the results.

Sreejith sometimes the people who you want to link to you may not if you have AdSense everywhere. It's easier to attract links to a site that doesn't have the ads.

Also some people might not subscribe to your feed or become regular readers if they think you're all about the ads.

That's not necessarily everyone, but in the beginning when you're looking to attract more loyal visitors some people think it's better not to have the ads.
