I have a site that uses AdSense.


I read here:

Publishers participating in the AdSense program:
"May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks".


I have two referrals on every page, but the text is enclosed in parenthesizes. Would these parenthesizes be considered "graphical gimmicks"?

They are talking about publisher ads there. The rules are different for referal links. You can even say "hey, Adsense is brilliant, you should sign up for it by clicking the following link".

Do you mean I can even say "Please support our site, by subscribing to AdSense."?

The referal ToS says:

# Actively endorse the products you refer. Unlike with AdSense for content ads, we encourage you to endorse referral products by calling attention to the button or text link. If you believe in the quality of the product that you are referring, feel free to let your users know! Of course, in line with our policies, you may not click your own ads nor encourage conversions for deceitful reasons.
# Treat referral units as site content rather than traditional ad space. By integrating text links or buttons into related content on your page, you can improve the experience users have on your site, enabling them to easily find the referral buttons you discuss in your content.

From what I understand from the link you gave me, I am free to draw attention to referral ads. Now, the question is, may I go one step further, and to ask users to install FireFox or to participate in AdSense program, in order to support my site?

I'm not too sure about asking people to support the site by downloading from google or joining adsense.

You would probably get better results by telling them that adsense is a great way to make money and that firefox is a great browser.

if you write these sentences above your adsense , you will be banned . this is against the google adsense tos

referal ads and publisher ads have different TOS rules.
