I finally found a niche term worth $1.50 per click that people do actually click on! I don't know if it is just the way I created the site as the ads are in plain site.

sanantonio-job .net

What would explain the clicks though? The way the site is laid out or because the niche is good?

Because the niche is good obviously. However, with that type of layout you won't last in Adsense. 3 long banner ads above content = bad.

Believe it or not, but with smartpricing it actually pays to keep the site looking clean and the visitor feeling welcomed.

Yeah, I have since then come up with a new ad sense site, it uses the ad sense within the content and the CTR% is much better on other sites that have that. I will probably change it soon thanks

ChickenCamels, what is smartpricing, is it new? I need to learn more about ad placement, trouble is I'm using mambo and it restricts some aspects of what I want

Smartpricing is basically when your site gives a good conversion percentage, so advertisers pay more to display ads on your website.

Hi,
I belive make a good niche site is much better than spending time to get traffic /seo with other sites. i have a game site and it has more than 1k daily members and the same time i have a health related website whcih only have 100 - 200 hits per day. But that health related website earn 3 times than my game site.

Thanks

Yes, that is because the niche term health is worth more per click / impression then gaming stuff.

the CTR is due to you having very little content besides the adverts.

$1.50 is not rare, there are a number of niches that offer more than that. But if you are just thinking about CTR, I am sure you will not make much money out of that. Remermber, people doesnt visit your site to click on ads.
