It sounds about right to me, only I don't think they're heavy handed like people like to make them out to be. We all know Google loves to collect information on us, and that's the reason gmail, blogger, maps, writely, spreadsheets, themes, custom search, groups, and everything else exist. They make some great stuff and seem to enjoy it, but don't think they don't save every little bit of information they can get, tie it together with other data when that's possible, and build a comprehensive record of everybody's movements through cyber and geo space.
My own personal opinion is if I hang out with a friend enough to write a post to my blog or check my adsense report ( haven't done that in two months, I haven't earned anything ) from their computer, it's not really proper to charge some company for them clicking my ads. Not that I'm going to cry over **** ebay ads, but it's the principal of the thing. Just like I want people to read my blog because I have interesting ideas and convey them well, not because they like me and feel obligated.
