I have a template that i made for my sites that use adsense!

I used to use it only on one of my sites, and that was by far my best earning site, so then i decided to change my other 2 sites to that template and my earnings on those sites have shot up as well.

So does the layout of your website affect earnings???

Definitely. A good layout will make your site looks far more professional, and visitors are more likely to click the ads in your page. There must be a positive relationship between the site layout and the CTR.

Also the placement of the ads as well as color combination can change the CTR and hence increased earnings

I would say the exact opposite. If a site has good content surely your visitors are going to be less likely to want to leave it. I can't see how having a good site will make people click adverts more.

Even though a site has rich content, a good design would always enhance its popularity

To be honest, both content are good site layout/ design are equally important.

good content brings and keeps traffic - the more traffic and more page views increases the chances of someone clicking on an ad that appeals to them, its a numbers game to some extent.

Layout matter a lot. One of my vbulletin forums revenue went down 50% after I changed the skin. Had to get something similar to the old one to bring back the revenue.
