Ibeen working on my site www.cycleposers.com for quite a while, have adsense for a while as well. Got plenty of traffic, and good content.

I have lots of clicks, this month i got over 100 clicks. But only made 5 dollars. What gives?

The click through rate is really low about 1%. Im not sure how to improve this. I have tried to get better ads etc..

People don't go looking for adverts so you are going to have to make it far more obvious. Put them in a place that they can see as soon as the page loads. Experiment with placements, Colours and ad types.

Thanks niche, im working on that now. I think the sub pages will have ads above the fold, but not on the first one. Would that be a good idea still?

Moved my ads a little, i dont know if i did something. Im sure I did, but now im making even less. lol

I dont get this adsense thing. I hear people doing well. But i think they are lying. lol

I moved my ads up and now im making less.

I have adbrite.com ads on the inside, i like how they look much more. But they pay even less. Yesterday with adsense i made 0.01 cent. And had 200 unique users.

It seems the best ads are the ones inside the content next to the articles(in the article themselves)

Well, I don't know what's up, but I can only get the head to load and can't even see the Google ads. Did anyone else have this happen? I'm on high-speed broadband, and not have any issues elsewhere, so something is amiss. If others are experiencing this, that could explain the low click thru.

I checked again after typing my response -- still can't get anything but the header. ??

People make it rich with adsense if there website has a heavy stream of traffic and keywords that pay out well.

You may want to consider looking into other affiliate programs, perhaps they will pay out better. Just experiment and see how it goes...

You cant just put google adsense ads on ur site and just expect people to click them, you have to think about it logically, think about how you surf web sites and how you go about clicking links.

When i open ur site my eyes are drawn to the pictures down the centre of your site and im not drawn to the google ads at all, in fact i have to scroll down a bit to see them, so any people just browsing by wont even see the ads so its little wonder they wont click them.

Try altering the positioning and maybe changing the colours, annoying as it is it will get you a better click rate.

You have to have pretty high volumes of traffic to make a decent wage with Google Adsense. I think that the more engaged the visitor is with your website, the more profit.

I'd also suggest putting your ads somewhere prominent above the fold. Maybe a link unit above your top graphic? If visitors can't see the ads, they can't click on them.

Are you running Google analytics on the site? This could give you a better feel for the traffic that you have there.

It can be about 10 cents per visitor(unique) on average per day.
So if you have 1000 uniques per day which is pretty easy to archive
You will have your 2000/month
