I have two virtually identical sites that differ only in design. The first is a Yahoo store that I set up temporarily while we designed our 'final' custom store. They are both up-and-running and receive about the same amount of traffic from virtually identical adwords campaigns. However the Yahoo store has twice the conversion rate (i.e. twice the sales). Both landing pages have the same information. Any ideas why there is such a difference?

I had a look at both your sites and the landing pages don't have the same information.
The Yahoo store is all products (except for menu), shows more items and it has prices. People can see what they are going to get and how much its going to cost.
Which landing pages of your 2 sites have clear, useful and attractive information better, it will have higher coversion rate. Google proved it and that's why landing page quality is one of most important factors.
