Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to hire a graphic designer with a portfolio you like rather than make people work for free?

As a designer... does it not degrade you working for free or less than minimum wage?

Here is an interesting website which discusses the topic rather than ever could...

That's a great post and all the author's complaints are the reason I stopped bothering with Craig's List for just about everything.

CL could be a useful site, but there are far too many people looking only to take advantage of the people who post and respond to ads.

Nice find.

Yep, people have been saying this about photography for years.

Interesting point but I am sure people know me from previous contests.

I have been rather redundant on here for a while but I believe in running a contest on here to find a designer who is dedicated in good work. Once that work has been recognised by myself, I would wish to work with the designer on any other aspect required for my project. The extra work would be paid for at a mutually agreed fee.

The reason I say this is down to the reason I think designers are willing to work cheaply on WT. They get the recognition they deserve and if chosen, the developer will stick by them for that project.

Portfolio building is fundamental in this big bad world.
