heres the edited version with a clown fish instead. i like the clown fish better then the other one, it seems much friendlier...

mrJC: That's looking much better. My only concern is that the clown looks a little too much like a "Nemo"...don't want to infringe a Pixar trademark

I wouldn't be opposed to it if you wish to enter. My only concern is it adversely affecting the load time on the site. However...if it was simple enough I might go for it

To everyone: if you need ideas for what kinds of fish are marine, check out LiveAquaria.com. If you click that link, all the fish on the page are marine (saltwater) fish.

I think it will have maximum 30 Kb ... so loading speed is not a problem.

adi4x: The banner looks nice, but it's not quite the theme I'm looking for. I'd like my banner to capture a mostly underwater scene...with fish, coral, etc going on. I like the flash look though

We figured you would want a Unique logo/Mascot so we drew this from scratch, scanned, digitized, added color, & effects.

Jethro: Your design IS very cool. I can tell you have some talent. There's a few reasons why it wouldn't be right for my site though
A) Not very web 2.0 looking
B) Incorporates more non-saltwater elements (sailboat, seagulls, sunset)
C) Dark color scheme, I want a lively and happy site

It is a beauty of a banner though...good work
