Just to add a little bit of info about the site.

We will be offering businesses free and paid-for listings eg Free, Bronze @ £2.50 per year, Silver @£5 per year and Gold @ £10 per year and so on. Obviously we want to be marketing these well and a lot of that will be dependant on the design.

Ok guys... Just let me clear this up. I am looking for a logo and design for the site, however, the site will no longer be for mp3 downloads (ie the current content will no longer be there) it will be a musical services directory (yellow pages type business listings). The software I will be using for it is www.phpmydirectory.com. If you go to http://demo.pmdstyles.com/index.php and use the theme changer at the bottom to change to "edge_black" you can see the sort of layout I am after.

So, I am after a new layout and logo for a business directory site that will be taking over the shop at www.notsounknown.co.uk - take a look at the template monster links for more idea of the sort of design am after.

Sorry if I did not make this clear in the first place.

Well i came up with a quick template:

The content part of the layout was created just to showcase how it will look after adding the contents. The Colour/Fonts used in the content part can be changed during the coding session. Also the Layout's Color scheme can be altered as per requirements.

theinspirer - without sounding nasty, I feel that you design lacks 'professionalism', the main content area isn't too bad but I think the header looks cheap and nasty. Also the whole thing lacks colour and is very bland. If you mtake a look at the templatemonster links you'll get more of an idea of the kind of look I am after. I want a grungy but clean look with a contrast of dark and bright colours (green/orange ideally but open to anything really). Also bear in mind that the logo will be used elsewhere other than just the site.

JoshChris - Not bad, font and colours are good (note that it is .co.uk though). I don't get the kind of stone thing in the background though... I would prefer just the text as it needs to be scalable as I will be using it in print as well. A nice start though.

Thats nice, very nice! I like that very much, a great improvement. I can't really think of anything bad about that one. Are you planning on submitting a layout design too or just going for the logo (If I can't get both I'd make an offer for a decent logo)
