I highly recommend istockphoto.com. It is a great community of photoraphers and designers. They have tens of thousands of images, most available for the web for as little as $1.

You may also want to take a look at photos.com. They have a huge selection of photos. They offer their photos on a subscription basis.

Enjoy

Depending on who owns the pictures, you can sometimes use images for free by asking the owner nicely for their permission. Depending on if you're planning to use them for profit, there are usually no problems.

There are a few free stock photo sites out there that are really great. I personally recommend:

http://www.sxc.hu/
http://www.morguefile.com
http://free-stock-photos.com/
http://www.freeimages.co.uk/

Good luck!
