I'm pretty much a coder - graphics are definitely my weak point. I'm doing a contract gig for a tile company that is interested in having a feature like this
on their site. My guess would be that the images were created in PhotoShop, and the rest is JavaScript, but I can't figure out how he created the images. Any help plz?

I believe he would have used multiple programs. Photoshop however i didnt think would have been used. If you are talking about the picture (the one that is like a swimming pool or somet) then he may have used meshes, added the tile textures, rocks extra.

Do you mean using the different tiles in the picture?

I would think in PS you would isolate the area where you are going to change things in a separate layer. It would be a lower layer so the waterfall, etc. still stayed on top. Then just keep changing that layer.

If you look at the rocks on the right they are very unnatural looking, and do look like they have been cut out of something, and the waterfall is a bit crooked, as if it is a cut and paste also.

The straight wall shots seem relatively straightforward. However, the curved one is interesting. The perspective is a little mixed up isn't it. Have you ever dealt with panoramas and seen what happens with them? Perhaps that is how the tiles on the curve is produced. PS CS does have a panorama capability. To get an idea of what I am talking about see http://www.leewood.us/news/webnews/brochurecol.htm .
That is a straight street (pretty much) and about 12 pictures pasted together. It makes it look like it curves away in the center. There were other projections that looked differently (one made the grass look like it was hilly -- short hills).

thanks. i guessed the top layer was cut and pasted from another picture, and spotted the lousy perspective. i also thought the curved wall was interesting, although the guy could have taken the time to add some shadow for perspective. would photoshop's multiply feature explain how he created the tile wall? i'm thinking he actually may have done this from a shot of one or two tiles and just burnt/dodged some of them.
