Hello everybody,

I need your help with a bannerdesign for a jobboard which contains virtual jobs like virtual assistants, blogging, seo etc.

The design should look web 2.0ish (please no reflections)

The textlogo should be in the upper left area of the banner.

The name to be used is "fernarbeit" this is german and synonomous for "work at home"

The tagline underneath should read: jobs. virtuell. weltweit. (meaning jobs. virtual. worldwide.)

If you could integrate a beautiful rss button on the right side of the banner that would be great.

When designing think about a banner that would be appealing to yourself as jobsite that can generate you a good extra income while establishing your work from home.

Hello guys,

Thanks for all your work so far. I can see that some of your designs are going the right direction, which I am really happy about. However I am missing the Web 2.0ish feeling a bit.

Before giving individual feedback I would like to add a few more general things.

Colours
it would be great if all of you would be playing with colours a bit more. I want to incorporate some of the logo colours into the CSS design of the site.

Below are 3 colours palettes from colour lovers that I really liked

If you could choose one of the pallets for design upgrades that would be great.

@ The real me: There will be an English site as well in about 3 weeks. @ All: Please send me a pm if you want the info once it is up and running. As a small incentive I would give the winner an extra $20 if I decide to incorporate the logo on the English site with different wording.

@Ninja > Thanks for your post, but it looks a bit too simple and doesn't have the striking feature I am looking for. Maybe play around with the colours palettes I have given you before.

@Corey > Good try. I like the icon, but a bit more playing with colours would also be an advantage.

@Rakien > Interesting design and one of my favourites so far. However please keep in mind that the logos colours should be incorporated in the CSS design, which might be a bit hard to realize with the design.

@ Garala: The idea with the laptop is good. I have been thinking about this as well. However a laptop icon might be a bit better. And the design is based somewhere in the air on your design. I like the RSS button though. @ all I think there have been a few very good examples of free rss buttons on the smashing magazines blog.

@ The husky bear > one of my favourites so far. I do however not like the picture. It looks too much business and money like. It would be good if you try to improve the designs and colours a bit more. And yes, the winner is allowed to use the logo in his portfolio, but I would like to have the full rights on it.

I don't understand. What do you mean by "incorporating some of the logo colors into the CSS design of the site"? Does it mean that we shouldn't use gradients and complex patterns in the banner?

My logo is only white so there are no multiple colors.

I can definitely add some color to the design, but what kind of image would you prefer? Something more technical..like a computer? Or maybe just a background design?

I'd like to take a moment to suggest that you don't put your entire color scheme into your header design because:

It will probably end up looking way to busy
Your colors will still match your logo if they're in the same scheme
You need to leave some colors to perform "functions" in your design.

Got rid of that shine, Made the cloud a bit larger and more transparent, and also added a little "Gloss" (sort of) affect to the name itself.

@andrei155 1&2: I really like your ideas and the logo. The way you implemented the RSS button could be a bit cleaner, though but the idea is great ! Maybe you could use a laptop that has a 2D look instead of a 3D. And using fernarbeit with german colours is also very cool, however as the jobboard will be available for Swiss and Austrians as well it might not be the right colours.The second one without the shine is my favorite however.
@Thehuskybear: Yes! Something more technical would be good.
@Rakien: You are right and I like the design, but something a bit more simple would be nice. I might struggle to design the css to give it a clean look.
@Ninjax2: I like the design. Maybe not the font. Something like "neurolog" would be cool.
@Sneakyheaven: You are right with what you are saying. I am not a graphic designer and appreciate your advice.
@universifier: Beautiful and different approach. I like it ! However there could be a few more effects in the design.
