My other site is also in great need of a new look! http://www.afullcup.com

This site is all about saving money - using coupons, trading coupons, refunding, freebies, stockpiling, etc. The name of the site does not necessarily reflect that, so the logo needs to tie it all together. The site name was originally chosen by the person I bought the site from and was intended to portray that our members truly have A Full Cup and are busy balancing life, gathering their ever growing stockpiles, and chasing down every last deal!

AFCers are typically female - mostly 20's and 30's, but there are many older than that as well. We do have a few straggling males.

This is the current header, but I am open to new colors. Depending on the design, it would be interesting to be able to change the colors to give varying style choices to the members who have voiced their opinions on colors in the past. We have typically had a purple, blue, pink and green option for them.



I want a logo as well as the name A Full Cup on the header. I would like to see what you can also come up with for adding the "Savings by the Cup Full" in there too. I would like the logo to be vector/resizable for including on logo merchandise in the future. But I'd like it incorporated into the header file (PSD, JPG as well) for the top of the site. I'm not stuck on a size for the header, I just need there to be room on the top right of my site for advertising.

ETA: This contest will end on Thursday at 9pm EST. I will not guarantee a winner since I have been asked to give a definite deadline.

I have to say this was a hard little topic to create a graphic for. But still, here's my entry.

OK... I must say I'm not really thrilled with anything so far - no offense - I realize it's a hard topic. Let me give you some more things to go on...

First of all, I really love what katesrobyn did with my other site's logo: http://www.webmaster-talk.com/747457-post4.html It is so trendy, fun, colorful and catchy. None of these really do that for me...

here are some ideas that my admins and I have been throwing around - obviously not every one of them could be incorporated, but hopefully it will give you some direction...

• picture of ladies sitting around cutting coupons
• cup with money flowing out of it - kinda like our current one, but much better does not necessarily have to be a coffee cup, can be bills instead of coins
• people holding cups of money
• different cup with steam coming out - perhaps the steam forming the letters for SAVE?
• coupons somehow?

Here's hoping someone can come up with something more Thanks everyone!

This is the second contest i've noticed your end date field states - "when I see something I love! "

This might be a little unfair to the designers as there is no clear deadline and the contest could end at any time. Please take into consideration that a designer might be spending a lot of time on a design for your contest only to find that it has already ended before he/she can post it.

I'm stating this because I was working on my third entry for your earlier contest and found that it was closed (without any warning) before i could upload it.

I could have spent that time working on an entry for this contest.

Yes, that as well. Also, could you please leave individual feedback on each entry, as it felt like a wasted way too much time on this, and you don't even bother to leave feedback. I'm sure it'll take less time than designing the logo/banner.

Points taken and I appreciate the feedback and apologize that you wasted your time. On the same note, it would be appreciated if ya'll could post a quick "working on something" so that I know there is interest in my contest.


I am sorry I didn't leave individual feedback for this particular one. As I stated, nothing at all jumped out at me and I really didn't know how to tell anyone what to change because I didn't see any of the current designs going in a direction that suited me. I hoped that if I gave you more information on what I was looking for that it would help.

Thanks for understanding. Could you possibly post some examples of banners/logos that are in the direction you are looking for? And maybe take a few seconds to look on dafont.com for a font(s).

I did that in my post above - I stated that I really liked the way katesrobyn designed my other logo. I like having a photo in it and I like that it is trendy and fun and colorful and catches my eye.

I'm sorry, but font choice is something I'd rather you do up front. I will happily give feedback on a particular font once you post something.

Ninjax - Interesting concept with the coupon lines around the word FULL. I'm not sure what the little tag says though. Overall this header is just too grey for me. I'm looking for more color. And I don't really want a cup of coffee - if there is a cup in the graphic, I'd like it to contain money somehow.

Josh - I love the lady cutting! Wish there could be coupons (and money?) floating around her somehow. The cup is too plain for me and the font too drab - again, looking for more color. The logo needs to be such that I can use it on printed merchandise and have it look good. I'd like more in the background itself as well.

Erica - Cute idea with the coffee pouring into a cup of money. I like the coins laying around the background. With this one, There isn't any clear cut logo. I also don't like the brown font.

Kates - Much better track! I love all the color and that there is more going on in the header. Interesting concept for the logo, but I don't really care for it as is. With the size it will be on the header, I don't think you'll see what's in the circles (and some of them I'm not sure I'd want there anyway). I don't like the font for A Full Cup - a little hard to read. The girl on it is interesting, but I don't care for how she is in the oval and her head is cut off like that.

EVERYONE - I still need a spot on the right side of my website to place my current advertising. I'd like for the header to span the entire width if possible, so that the advertising is on a coordinating background. I don't think it's technically possible to be fluid then, so I'm open to suggestions here.

I have a few questions. Your willing to buy stock images? And you want the banner to take up all the space, and leave some for an ad? Also it says AFL on the tag.
