Hi i need a logo for a IT company, the company offers services such as - computer sales, installation, and repairs.
- Business network rollout, and servicing
- Web Design and Hosting
- In House Servicing and training
the company name is Megabyte Solutions.
I am not really sure what colour scheme i would like. I had in mind blues or reds, But use your imagination and see what you can come up with.
--- ADDED INFO ---
The logo is to be used on websites and stationary, so the logo needs to look good with a white background so that it can be printed on letterhead, but it also needs to also look good with a colour behind it for use on the web.
A Vector Image would be best so that it can be resized and used in an media as needed. But i am happy to look at logos that are not in vector format.
Also i would like to see some sort of IT / Computer related graphic in the logo design if possible.
Color Scheme: any Type of Design: Logo Desired Dimensions: any Desired Filetypes: any Prize: $75.00 How prize will be delivered: paypal End Date: 10/08/08

Are you wanting a vector logo so it can be resizable or will it only be used for your website? I have some ideas, but they wouldnt be in vector

Sorry, but in my opinion it's just silly to create a logo in anything but vector. Logos simply have to be vector. And also Illustrator offers a lot of Photoshop features, so what kind of thing would be there for a logo you couldn't do in Illustrator?
Edit:
Here are my versions.
First of all this logo is CMYK, so it's perfectly suited for printing as well and of course it's vector which means it's scalable to any size.

Since you doing many different things I somehow wanted to reflect that. Also I wanted to avoid anything that involves a computer or something like this in the logo, because that'd be way too cliche. I decided to go with something more abstract. I chose 8 squares with 4 different colours to show that you are doing many different things. Alos I decided to make 8 squares as a little reference to your name Megabyte (1 Byte = 8 Bit) I arranged them to look like a ninth square is missing just to make it look a bit more interesting.
I hope you like it.

You are totally limited in Illustrator, you can't give your logo glossy effects, reflection ect It's way to hard to draw complext shapes, which would be easy to do with Photoshop's marquee tool. Your one is simply sqaures, so it's easy for you.
Contest Holder: I can easily make my design a vector if you want, just say.

* Not true

*** Pen Tool?
I mean, of course you can use Photoshop if you want, that's fine. But in my opinion Illustrator is the only real option for Logo designs. It has a lot more to offer than you might think at first. And as long as you can do it in vector, why shouldn't you do it in vector?

Ninjax, it's simple. You create a text layer, copy it, "reflect it", fill the reflected text with a gradient from the text color to white, then set the opacity to 60%.
Hayden,
Do you want a computer specifically or just something related? My design was kindof abstract... but the lines on the left were supposed to represent something like a server room. Really abstract, I know... I didn't even see it until after I made it. :-P

Gloss works pretty much the same way btw, just use opacity masks.

I use photoshop most of the time because I am more experienced with it and generally I only do web design... I stray away from logo design as vector design is one of my weaknesses... I dont think one is better than the other.
They both have their rightful places..
ezhs8554: if you plan to use your logo on stationary, then a vector would be best, however, a well designed and optimized photoshop rendering would work just the same. I have some work to get done today, but I will try to come up with something (in vector) this evening.

I'm making the "IT" for the logo. It's in vector format (adobe illustrator). I can be transfer it to psd format (photoshop) if needed.
