Graphic Design Contests

I need a nifty little logo for a new directory I am building. The directory is called "Find Costa Rica" - a human edited directory of all that is worth seeing in Costa Rica. I prefer minimalist design. Try to keep the design simple but relevant (should fit the idea of "looking" for something or "discovering" something - key in on the word "find"). It would be great if the logo (or part of it) can somehow fit into a favicon.

Hi,
I thought of a professional, corporate feel. Hence, the corporate font. I used a magnifying glass for the search (find) aspect of the design. And lighting to add an extra feel. This is my initial concept. Feedback is appreciated.

@ yourmediaking - too corporate (good idea with the mag glass) needs to be lighter, more fun.
@ katesrobyn - love the font - fun feel - not sure about the anime flavored icon...have to think about it

The icon is a unique, an ELF, holding magnifying glass" means a thing/icon that helps you find things"

Hey - there's real talent in this group! Lots of good stuff here but I'm leaning toward 2 designs katesrobyn and itrungs. One has a cartoony look while the other a bit of a tech look but colors and styles both work for me.
