Hi all,

Just wondering what sites do you use for your stock photography. Im thinking of setting up my own stock photograhy site through my web design firm. Im just testing the water seeing what you guys think.

To answer your first question, I use istockphoto.com. It's a great community of artists/photographers and web designers. The prices are amazingly reasonable. If you do set up that type of business, I would suggest you follow their model. Don't make it an impersonal site where someone comes to browse pictures and might buy one. Make it a community based on forums and open communication. When you have that, people feel like they have a sense of ownership and they will participate more in it.

sxc.hu is the best one. It's all completely free, no subscribing or anything. I love it, and I use pics from it on my site now!!

I agree with tcogga, sxc.hu has an incredible selection of stock photos...and it's all free. Two thumbs up!

I use Microsoft's ClipArt...not really stock photography...but that's where i get pics for my site.

Hi Everyone,

I mostly have problems finding stock photography websites that dont require subscriptions or payments. A stock photography site that has royalty-free, copyright-free images.

Check out www.sxc.hu - everything is free (some pics need you to contact the creator for commercial use, which is understandable if that person has worked hard for a good photo).

You can use the photos without registering, but register and you get large high resolution images for use on websites, brochures, presentations and basically anything you want.
