Hello everyone.-
I am looking for a logo design for a brand we are building. The name of the brand is “Sabor y Ritmos”. Sabor y Ritmos is an aerobic class to be thought in gyms, so the logo should represent that, a gymnastic class of different rhythms (Salsa, Merengue, African, etc). This is a new brand, so I have nothing to start with, so I am really hoping to get some of your inspirations for this logo.
There is not an established size, shape or colours, but I have to say that I would like to keep it limited to 4 or 5 colours max.
Just as a reference, I saw this logo online which I liked:

I have to say, I don’t like the colours, but I like the middle stripe with the bubbles effect.
It will be strongly suggested to use aerobics shaped people forms on the logo, like the one I referred to, but is not required. I would really like to see talent in this logo and I am sure, based on what I have seen on this forum, that I will see some very nice logos. Feedback will be given to every single logo.
The contest will go until Nov 26th 2008, and a prize of $50 dollars will be paid via Paypal to the winner. If none of the logos is what we want, we will give the contest as ended without a winner. If there is a winner, the designer will have to email me the logo probably on .psd and some others formats like .jpeg, etc. I will specify that later, but after having the .psd should not be a problem. Payment will be sent first and then the designer should email me the logo 1 day at the latest after the payment.

Once you have chosen a winner, payment is usually made first, then the winner sends you the final requested files.

O.K. Thanks for the tip. That is fine. I will make the payment first and then the designer will have 1 day to email me the logo on the file types specified previously.

katesrobyn, I like what you did on the background, very colourful. The font used for "Sabor y Ritmos" I think it can be improved, it looks too "toys are us" to me. The black human shape you used was very smart, but I will go with one standing on its feet, as that move is not really in our class. Besides that, I think you did a great job, very creative. Keep on working, I think you are doing well.

what size you need for the work, since it is based on .psd format, you cant resize it later.

Hi Mark.-

Thank you for your post. It is not really what we are looking for, I would like to see a more aggressive logo. I think yours is missing some colors. I would like the human black shapes to be a little younger and not too stylish as yours is and play a little more with the words and not as straight forward as yours. Once again, thanks for yours post, and please keep on working on it as I believe you can deliver better than this.

Thanks you guys for your posts so far.

Mark, I knew you could do better, your new post is 1000 times better than the first one, I think you were being a little lazy on the first one. I like the colors you use, the circles, etc, I think you did a great job. I know this is your final post, and I respect that, now if you ask me what I would change on your logo, it will be the girl shape. Don't get me wrong, the shape is great, young and nice, but I would change it for something on the same line, but more oriented to fitness exercise without using the ones you used on the past logos which were to stylish.

katesrobyn, the changes you made are now more in line with what we do. Once again, I think your logo looks quite good, and thanks for the extra t-shirt with the logo, I can see easily the logo on the shirt now which helps. I don't have anything else I could change on your logo so far, so I will just wait to see what else comes along, but again, your is looking good.

If you can verify that the entry actually has a chance of winning and i wont be wasting my time i can do some final revisions to the logo until you are happy.You can choose one of the 3 and i will find some more images i could use. I will then submit the ones i have found and you can choose the one you like, which i will then incorporate it into the design. After that i will submit the final revision and you can give me any other tweaks you would like.I know it sounds arrogant, but i will only do this if the entry is actually selected as the winner. You must understand that time is money and i can not afford to make a ton of revisions to a logo that won't even be accepted.I hope you do not take this the wrong way.Best regards,Mark Henderson

I understand your point. Because the contest is going to run for 15 more days, I can not announce a winner at this time, so what I would do is create a top 5 list during the reminding 15 days and few days before the contest ends, I will post my top 5 list. I will take into consideration your availability to change to our requirements when creating the top 5 list, but I hope you understand that if other designers keep improving their logo, it might have an influence when creating the top 5 list as I can actually see their improvements while yours is a upcoming improvement.

Once again, I like what you did, and lets wait for more designs to come, if you come into the top 5 list close to the end, you can then take the decision to keep of improving your logo or not.

At this time, I don't have enough logos to build this list as the contest is just getting started. I hope more designers get involved on this as competition is very healthy when looking for perfection.

Thank you very much for your post.I think your logo is quite good, but I don't think it goes along with our brand. Your logo looks like a disco banner and not much of a fitness oriented logo. I don't know why most designers have taken the banner look directions when in reality we are looking for a logo. The human shapes are young, which I like, but they seem to be dancing and not doing fitness. Lucy, please keep on working as I know very well you can different things and I know you can deliver better. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hello everyone.-

Now that I have some logos posted, I would like to make a suggestion to the ones that already turned in a design and for future posting. Our logo has taken, I believe, the wrong direction, most people has turn in designs that looks more like a banner and this might be because of the freedom on size and the fact that I don't have anything to start with, but I just would like to mention and remind everyone, that we are looking for a logo. I like the fact on seen the banners/logo on t-shirts for example, but keep in mind this logo will be place on documents, fliers, etc, besides t-shirts. I want to congratulate everyone for their efforts, and don't get me wrong, I like what I have seen so far, please keep on working. I know how hard it might be to come up with something nice to someone that does not have very clear what it wants, but if I knew what I want, I would have do it myself. Your creativity is what I am looking for and expecting to get impressed by a logo that I didn't think of, but that I think it matches what we want.
