hello..

i'm trying to fade out the edge of a layer by adding a mask and then using the gradient tool

my problem is that it makes a little transparent the whole layer.. not just the part of the layer i used the gradient tool on

this is happening to me in PhotoShop CS

this never happen to me in PhotoShop 7

please help and thanks for your time.

here's my problem.. you see the more i use the tool the rest of the layer starts getting transparent which is not good.. please help.. thanks for your time.
