Looking for a logo for the Crystal Lake Association of Ellington, CT
(www.mycrystallakect.org)

Would like some original artwork (can have some clipart/library images if you need a base to work off of)

Apologies in advance but this will be an evolutionary process as we're starting with an open-ended request from the client.

Some thoughts/ideas:

Maybe a sun setting over lake water with a rowboatboat in the foreground.
Incorporate "CLA" or "Crystal Lake Association" somehow. Yellow/orange sunset, blue water, brown boat, maybe a green tree.

Make it look like an "official seal" - something circular with perhaps a frilled/designed border.

The image needs to be in vector format - I use Paint Shop Pro so I'd like a .pspimage but also a native photoshop format that the client can use at print shops.

In addition to being vector, I'd like it to still look good when condensed down to be used on the website (approx 150x150). I will send the client to this page to get their opinion, once I see a couple drafts.

Thank you for the submission - this is a good start. As much as we like this one, we are hoping for multiple artists to throw their hat in the ring so we can compare, so this contest is still very much open.

Initial feedback:

The "Seal" or wording in the logo should include the full association name:
"Crystal Lake Association of Ellington, CT"
(there are a lot of Crystal Lakes out there)

Maybe put "Crystal Lake Association" along the top and
"of Ellington, CT" around the bottom - with enough space between the two (or maybe even bullets or some webding on each side, separating the top and bottom wording).

Also, one of the main draws to this lake is the fishing. So at least in this one draft, maybe the little silhouette guy can have a fishing pole.

Thank you everyone for the submissions. We are continuing our internal discussions and will announce a winner before the end of the week. The only other feedback I can offer is to maybe remove the "of" in the design so it just reads: "Crystal Lake Association" "Ellington, CT"

Again - wonderful work everyone, I'm sure we'll end up with something everyone is happy with.
