Graphic Design Contests

Hello all,

I have a website called http://www.planetarybargains.com/ , we deliver internationaly, mostly fashion items. We will have T-Shirts, Casual clothing, bags, sunglasses, lingerie, caps and a few other things. Our market is mostly from 20-35. Please look to the website for inspiration.

I know most people only ask for one at a time but I feel it might look better if they are all done by the same hand.

1) I need a banner for the top of my webpage 2128 x 336(prefered) 1064 X 168(acceptable) including the catchphrase "Delivering The Best Deals On The Planet" (Probably a white background) (Most likely using an earth image and conveying the idea we deliver all over the earth)

2) A favico.ico (16x16) (This is the little icon that goes on your favorites when you bookmark the page)

3) A Logo (prefer square and large say 800 X 800)

4) A background using the logo that I will set on repeat simular to:

But of course with the logo you design (Background color 107EB7).

Please use colors that are compatable with the current website design --> do not match the current banner colors <--

What are you going to be using the logo for? You're setting it as the background on repeat?

I would like to use the logo for the background and mabey use it in other designs I willl try to make myself later.

I like the earth on the banner you submitted Madman, i think its great. Nice job with the colors. Its very cool.

The favicon is good.

The background matching my webpage background doesnt quite look right, I put in on there to see and it looks funny when its the size im using now, and if I make it large it looks like I have a hole on the webpage showing the background. I think I am probably looking for a white banner background, though Im not sure yet, since someone might come up with something that blends better.

The Catchphrase should be "Delivering The Best Deals on the Planet"

The fonts could move down a bit, and mabey a bit larger or possibly a different font?

Is there something a bit more complex you can do to it like a plane or spaceship or superhero delivering packages by parachute to the earth or something? Or anything else that might give people the idea we deliver all over the planet?

i've made the logo and larger banner as well but i'm just uploading this banner for now (favicon would follow) - the sky could be faded to white if this doesn't fit in how you like with the white page

(one question: why such a huge banner? half of your users aren't going to see all of it? or are you thinking of having the middle half the 2128 x 336 with all the details in and have the sides as pure eye candy to fill in the background of high-res, wide screen users?).

Ok here is the primary logo design.
Created in illustrator edited in photoshop.
If you happy with this design you will be pleased with a similar favicon and awsome banner.

Ill answer the question first. The reason for the huge banner is just so I can scale it more, I want the higher resolution to work with, I will most likely be using it at halve size, but a bigger banner means more images from it I can edit out if I want to make variations of it at a later date.

As for the banner, its pretty great. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for, I like the way it fades nicely into my webpage, a few things, but small ones:

I am not looking for the products to be listed on the banner as this is made for my homepage only at the moment.

And mabey if you could make the name just a little bit larger, though not much.

Very nice entry I am looking forward to seeing the logo. Mabey you can work that into the banner somewhere also if it fits.

That banner with the circles makes my webpage look very cool, I do love the look of it. Great job with the colors and whitespace etc. The overall design is fantastic.

I am not a big fan of the shopping cart logo, it looks cool in that banner but I dont feel it is very memorable as a stand alone logo since it looks like something you see on virtualy all e-comerce sites.

Inerested in seeing what else you could come up with.

The design and color scheme of the banner can stay the same, i am hoping for a different logo on the left side if it though, and adding our catchphrase.

Please make sure you save it as is though and work on another copy, its very nice the way it is still.

For the Logo:

Not nessesarily earthy, just something that suits the name.Planetary of course includes earth but might make people think of spacey things also, like space ships, aliens and other planets. I originaly used it to try and say just how big the bargains were... Bargains this big, we call "planetary" Was going to be the original catchphrase.

But still mabey its simpler than all that and you can just make something very basic and memorable. The shoping cart logo was excelent, I just dont think it is overly memorable.

And i had this idea after the cart. Um what would you like to see?
Anything changed, personal idea, i can have a concept done if theres an idea out already. Im a wiz with illustrator.

I am not very artistic unfortuanly, please keep the designs you have done, and if you have more ideas please submit them. I would love to see what might pop into your head over the next week before the contest ends.

I did an eyedropper and Fill on the big P on the second logo that surronds the earth I think I like that better btw, makes it easier to read.

I think for the background I would be interested in seeing a variation of the "large P" logo possibly with a larger globe behind it to create a cirle, and a design coming off it, to tie the duplicates together, for the background might look neat. Mabey you can make the "tie together: design out of other planets or moons, packages, airplanes, spaceships or something if not just cool looking lines which would be fine also.

I still would like to see the cart go off the banner though and replaced by something, afraid I cant think of what I would like there, wish i could, but then I would probably be an artist and not be needing to hold this contest lol.

I just noticed the Logos have small black circles going off the right, do you think you could mabey throw a Saturn like ring around one of them? Also wondering how it might look with 4 more cirles possibly to represent the other planets, mabey you can use the other planets to tie the background together actualy? Not sure would hate to ruin your creativeness with too many ideas.
