I'm looking to start a classified ads site targated at the Irish but dont have the time to design or implement a template.
I need a template designed and coded into the site. a psg file of the template will also be needed.

I've designed a logo I designed it with a black/dark header in mind in attachment.

The site will have a classified ads section, forum, and news section.

The design will need to be incorporated into these.

one more thing the site needs to have adsence in mind also the classified ads section will be 100% free.

You want us to design you an entire template, for $30?

I am not quite sure I understand... as Madman says you want someone to design a template for an entire site for $30? And not only that, but it's a contest?

No thank you, that's not reasonable at all. Not even reasonable for an amateur.

If you want that kind of work done, I would suggest contacting a personal designer. Also templates usually require a lot of small revisions here and there based on the customers requirements. I just also wanted to mention that designers and coders are usually separate in their skill sets. It's best to hire the designer to create the template and then find a coder to build it. A Jack of all trades is a master of none, hope this helps.

Anyways, $30 is too low, you should contact a designer and get a quote for this kind of work. Feel free to contact me if you like.

The last time I did a Joombla template I charged $395 for a custom template (And I'm cheap). You really need a web designer. Even at $60, you're way too low.

Take a look at what people charge for a custom template design for Joomla. This company here charges 520 Euro's for a custom template and install:

Now take a look at what you're offering. It's like asking someone to gut your kitchen and replace all the cabinets for $200.

Just trying to help you be a little more realistic.

I think your best bet is to just go and find a premade template and buy that, it should be in your range.

I think if you ad $5 , you`ll be able to buy a nice template from templatemonster

Or i hope someone will eat for a month for the prize money. For the month the contest is taking place.

Well, for a template, the prize is low. However, to that I will say that many of the contest prizes are low compared to market value for graphic design. The contest forum here is intended as a service to members, designers and buyers both, and both may elect to participate or not to.

If you want to participate, jump on in. Less activity means fewer competitors, right?

The thing with this is he doesn't just want a site design though. He wants us to code it into Joomla 1.5, which I'm sure not everybody here, including me, knows how to do...

If you're gonna have a website, you should take it upon yourself to learn html editing and/or Dreamweaver. Adding in CMS to a website because the owner doesn't know how to edit the HTML proper is a pain.

like I say, just a rough draft so far, and let me know what you think.

As you can see I haven't installed the plug-ins yet, and have been focusing more on design at the moment.

What do you think of that flash image through Ireland?

I figured maybe we could create an index for people just visiting the site, and then removing that image from successive pages so repeat visitors don't have to keep getting bombarded by it- or, we can remove it altogether.

Question: when you say you want the template coded in psg format, are you referring to the source code AND the images, or do you just mean that you want all template-relevant Images converted to psg?

Looks like the guy who wanted the work to be done hasn't responded to the forums yet :P

perhaps there should be a MANDATORY submission for time frames on all projects, so we know (For Sure) whether a project is pure bullocks or has expired... what do you think?

So technically it isn't over until the 1st.
