Hello,
Regrettably, due to a lackluster response of our original offer, we are altering our original thread. We are no longer including a consultancy position with our company due to the fact that most interested parties have failed to meet the original deadline and/or appear only interested in a quick buck.
So, we will offer a $100 payment, and will only "consider" the winner for the consultancy position. Anyone who feels interested in this offer needs to reply and respond with a working idea before the 8th of November.
Original thread:
I am here to offer an opportunity for those trying to "break in" to the field. I have a consulting firm called "Galen Observations". We work largely with nightclubs, hotels, casinos and restaurants. We are a national company with over a hundred active corporate-level clients with over three hundred units (sites).
I have been looking into web designers over the past few months and have spent over a thousand dollars to date on feedback and layout work and have yet to find what I'm looking for. So, instead of wasting more money and time on just one designer or firm, I'm going to try this.
I'm wanting a "flash" type site based largely on the color scheme and logo currently up at "galenobservations. com". The site design was just something basic that was posted to give a general idea of what I'm looking for. The content on the site can be used in any submissions and should give an idea of who we are and what we do.
I am looking for someone "new" with cutting edge ideas, but who can also look toward our business audience and what their needs may be. In other words, no flaming heads or naked anime.
While there is no money involved in this work upfront, the "winner" will get two things: design credit on the posted website and you will get a personal recommendation from me to my clients, most of whom have websites in dire need of updating and can offer consistent work or additional opportunities.
Beyond looking for help with our own site, we are looking for someone to fill the "consulting" void my company has in relation to web and design work. Which means, when a client shows interest or the need for this kind of work, we need someone to refer them to.
To date, I have largely avoided this area of referral, as my previous attempts each resulted in price gouging. And one bad referral can cost us a client's confidence. But, we are an all-purpose, "go-to guy" consulting firm and I do not like coming up short in providing our clients with answers to all their potential needs.
So, please keep in mind that you may find yourself with your foot in a very large door.
In terms of time restraints, we are pushing a new promotion just after Halloween, so I will look at ideas until then.
Lastly, I have had a bit of criticism for the lack of upfront payment in this offer. If you are incapable of seeing the opportunity here and just interested in a "quick buck", thank you for reading this post, but you are probably not what we are looking for.
Thank you for your help,
Kenneth Purdy
