Hi,

I just had a new website built and they did the first letter of my company name ( a "W" ) in a green circle with a web 2.0 type shading effect. I have attached a cropped image from a screenshot.

I would like to expand on this and have a logo designed for this. I want to keep the same sort of shade of green (like #285157) and have it as a circle with a "W" in it. Just use your design skillz to make it look slick. Feel free to ask any questions you like.

No tag line on logo for now, I will probably pay the winner a bonus to add this later as I'd rather not use my company name here as it will show up in searches.

I am sorry, I don't quite understand your request. You would like us to create a logo for you, using W in circle with the same sort of idea as your screen shot, but how can one do that without knowing the name of your company?

Do you mean like (W)illow Restaurants like this? And just make up any name or do you just want the (W) touched up?

It would be nice to at least know the "Theme" of the website? What it is that you actually DO.

Thanks JG. You understood me perectly, even down the the web 2.0 style shading.

I'm not sure I like the inner circle as I think I'd like W a tad larger. Could you perhaps make the circle a bit more 3d and make it look like the "W" is cut into it with a bit of shading. Like you had a poolball and carved a letter into it.

Hylith - I don't want the name of company in logo. I want the logo to be a green circle with a "W" inside it like in the screenshot but looking better. We do software development, remote support etc... so the theme would be technology I guess.

Maybe this is what you are looking for, sleek, cut out look on a sphere like shape. Tried to use a more technological like "W" Am I on the right track?

That looks good. I like the shading. I wanted the W to look more like its carved into a spere rather than cut out. Would this be possible?

I believe it is possible to make it look like it's carved, but do you still want the W to be white?

no, the w doesnt have to be white, but I will need a version of it where the W will be visibale when the size of the image I originally posted.

Perhaps it could have a glow effect like the xbox logo? I think subconciuosly this is what I have been after (I play too much xbox).

Here are some other concept since the "W" doesn't have to be white.
I really like the first one making the W look unique and stand out from the background yet still harmonious and sleek. In the second the "W" is a bit quieter and blends more.

Yes, out of the two I like the left one although I would be worried that it would be hard to make out when smaller.

I'd really like to see a carved effect like xbox logo if possible.

Here's another concept, that carved into look that you are referring to on XBOX (looks like an alien egg about to hatch), would take quite a bit of effort. Which is why I am sure XBOX paid a lot of those designs.

This design is more edgy and inspired by the XBOX design.

OK, I can increase competition amount if need be. What would be a good price to get a similar effect to that of the cut away sphere? I want it to look like the cut out X but I want a cut out W instead.

Hi G,

$75 hits a good mark for a "cut out W" logo! Attached is a preview of what I've come up with - obviously stands darker than the xbox orb, as the colours are based on the green you provided. I am more than happy to provide any revisions/vectors on request!
