Graphic Design Contests

Hi, I am looking for a team member to participate in the international Thinkquest Webdesign competition (Under-19 category).

This Thinkquest website competition is for students who are of 19 years and below. Every team is given six months to do a website.

It is a very prestigious international competition and the prize for winning it is free flight tickets (for you and for one of your parents) to attend a prestigious event called the Thinkquest Live, which will be held in some country. (This year it is held in San Francisco).

Well, to win it, you need a well designed site (in terms of both visual and content ). The site should let the users learn a lot from them. The sites are marked for educational value, ease of use and for a whole list of other criteria which you can find in their website: www.thinkquest.org

So wait a sec. What do I win ? a ticket to San Francisco ? what do i get in California ? Is there some kind of ceremony where they get me on TV or give me cash or what ? what's the point ?

The venue changes every year. (it may be USA or Europe or any other country)

But there is also a conference in which distinguished speakers speak (last year Michael Dell spoke, I think) and ya, they present you the award there in the event.

I do not know about TV coverage though. Thinkquest says the package is worth around US $ 3000 per person.
