Please look at our logo, upper left corner at this URL:

We are currently looking to animate this logo in the following manner:

1) The word "Ulbrich" to become block-style 3-D and rotate on a Y axis (mid-way through the word), rotating out with the letter "U" first.

2) The oval coil also becomes mildly blocked-out 3-D on the same axis but in an opposite direction.

3) When the two planes intersect (i.e. when the image looks aligned as it is now), a spark or flash washes over the logo and "Ulbrich" (like a sun/halo/glare). Also, possibly a shiny diagonal wash go across the "We Deliver Precision" very quickly.

4) Want only a limited # of rotations - probably 3 or 4, I'm sure you can easily tweak that once we see a prototype.

5) This is stainless steel so shiny/metallic is good, but don't take the effects too far - not looking to cheese out the design.

6) Fonts and BG color must remain as-is.

7) Nice to have: if you can have the rotation be variable in speed (quicker as the words are less legible, slower as they get closer to the intersection point).

Looking to get this done ASAP - no need for a full mock-up but let me know if you're interested and if you can give me a sample of your work that does something similar to what we're requesting.

Please be prepared for a little trial-and-error as there are a few of us who will ultimately decide on the final settings once we see a prototype.

By 3D you mean a full three dimensional spin of the words? I see you use the word 'Flash' which can not make 3D letters.

Doesn't need to be flash but needs to be quick and playable without our users getting pop-ups to download a plugin. Effect similar to what is seen here: http://www.ulead.com/learning/cool3d8/page1.htm

That's actually exactly what I'm asking for, but just with the "Ulbrich" rotating one direction and the coil going in the opposite direction.

looking for a 'giffy' animation. Looks like you have it nailed down to a 't' by the way your description says it...Why not do it yourself? You can save a quick hundred bucks. Only take a few minutes in Gimp to do it.

gif would work so long as it still looks good @ 256 colors and is fast.
I would imagine this type of animation to look smooth with lots of frames, would be 100+k in size.

Would prefer flash, only because I'm assuming that would load faster.

Probably could stumble through it but don't have the time. Would rather leave it to an expert who does this type of work on a regular basis.

uichid, that's a very good start, thank you for sharing
You've managed to hit point #'s 1, 2, 5, and 6 so far.

I think the spinning needs to be about 50% slower than it is now.
Please let me know when you have a new version for me to try.

Before anyone else spends too much time on this...

uichid has created a draft version that if she can complete, will be the one we go with.

We're waiting to see the final product so this contest is not "officially" closed yet. BUT assuming she can button it up, I would say this is just about finished.

Thank you uichid - what are the original dimensions of the file, so I can view it properly?

I will provide a bit more feedback and some requests soon but initially it looks great.

ok, what do you mean by "the original dimensions of the file". I made this exactly like the logo from the site. If you want I can send you a bigger one so you can see clearly what's going on in the logo. So just tell me how bigger you want it in pixels.
