Graphic Design Contests

I am in need of a logo. Yes, I have graphic designers on staff, and they have come up with lots of designs, but I'm looking for more and I saw a lot of really great work from people on this board.

$150 to the winner. I will choose the winner no later than 1/20/10, but hopefully sooner than that. Payment will be made to the winner via PayPal.

This is for a web design company.

Name of company: Artonic

Colors: Blue / Orange -- Any variation is fine

This will be used for: Web, Animated Web Logo, Letterhead, Business Cards, Embroidery, Signage, Brochure, Print, etc.

Let's see what you can come up with. I will be checking in very regularly and providing direction/comments.

Could you give me a little description of the vibe you would like to put off? Which of these words appeal to you the most.

Simple, Elegant, Wacky, Corporate, Fun, Energetic, Clever

Would you prefer with a symbol or just focus on the text?

I would say some where between Simple and Wacky.

Fun, yes
Energetic, yes
Clever, yes
Corporate, yes, but not as much of a concern as the other

The name is Artonic, which is really Art + Iconic. It would be great if the logo some how represented that we are a web design company.

I would like there to either be a symbol, or do something really cool with the A and that can be a standalone symbol on certain things.

I was vague for a reason too, but definitely ask if you want any more input. I was vague because I have had seven professional designers come up with concepts based on my input and they just aren't coming out quite right, so I thought this time I would be much more vague and see what comes out of it.

Like I said though, definitely feel free to ask any questions at all.

I can post some of the other concepts that were created, but I don't want to influence a fresh thinker.

Here is a concept. The font is one of my favorites. The symbol in the "O" can be used as an icon. It draws the eye to the center of the design, and therefore to the font itself.
Added a few versions for you to absorb.

I do want to avoid the astro symbol (circle going around something as shown in katesrobyn's design) because I'm afraid people will confuse it with Artomic, as in Atomic, which is what that symbol can signify.

I'm looking for a few more to choose from so please keep em coming if anyone else would like to submit an entry.

Now that you mention it I was going for something like that early on. But quickly decided it wasn't the way you probably wanted to go and changed gears. Thank you for the compliment by the way.

I have created a logo for Artonic. The main graphic that would continue throughout all forms of marketing is the "a" bar. If you'd like any more variations, or anything else, let me know! Thanks!
