To answer a question from earlier: the logo already exists, and does not need to be created. Just the layout.

I don't have the "official" logo in a hi-res format, but this attached image can be used for the logo, if it helps when coming up with the design.

I have not taken part in a contest for a while but I followed the others example and submitted a design by pm. I was just curious about if thats how most people do it now, instead of posting on the forum?

My guess is people send by PM when they don't want to 'inspire' others who may produce arguably similar work.

people tend to submit it via PM, for everyone to have their own concept design, but it should be posted in public when it is chosen... to make sure that it's not a template free from other websites, and in fairness to all.

I have read several threads in the past that had a contest holder apologizing for not choosing a winner on the day they said they would. They seemed to always have some excuse like "I was out of town", or "got too busy".

I was out of town, and when I came back on Sunday, I forgot to check the site and choose a winner. I apologize. I am going to re-review all the entries that were posted on or before the deadline date of 7/18/2010. Sorry for those who posted late entries.

I will announce the winner and send the prize money today.

Well, I submitted before 12 AM on the due date. Then just noticed the due date was the 18th and posted which was at 1:19 AM, so technically I wasn't late.
