I am re-doing the editor for my site, but since I am a programmer, my art sucks.

The goal of the new editor is to mimic Windows XP. This way people will be comfortable in using it, and it will look like an application. But I am not sure if it should look more like an application, or like XP. The top menu is the same, only the left menu mimics XP.

Please vote for which design you like:

The Xp version looks lots better if i were you i would go with that one

I think the application looks better, the blue from the XP doesn't really go with the rest of it, the app is flush. The blue draws my attention to much, but thats just me.

Nice work on both.

I agree with both of these. I like the blue, but agree it doesn't really fit with rest of it.

Does this help to tie things together with the blue?

Ok, I did two more attempts, with the content the user will see. I added the default 3 icons the user sees when they come to the site.

I am now thinking that the application version looks better, since the sky and workspace are now the focus, while the XP version seems to clash with it.

Do you still think the XP version looks better? I have seen this webpage so many times I can't tell Adam from Eve.
