Graphic Design Contests

I am in need of a new website template.

See the current one: online-image-editor.com

That one looks out-dated, text is not good readable because of wrong font choice etc...

I am not sure yet what i exactly need/want. As i am not a graphics designer but a programmer.

However i made an example of what could be:

However the uploading part i dont like. I want the uploading part between uploading from file and uploading from web something like:

But where/how to place it, i don't know.
- Still to be added to on a logical place: A box/flags for language choices...

If you have total other ideas about the design, they are welcome to.

But keep in mind also the adds. As that is my only income from my site, they need to be put on strategic areas. Where it's not immediatly bothering the visitor, but it's seen clearly

(at the current site they are very good positioned i think)

It's only the design. No coding necessary!

Nice that you join in.

However your creation is not really 'fresh' as it is black. And it is to much in a 'box' kinda feeling. Not the update that i am looking for.

Hi Kate,

As an introduction page it looks nice, although the background is a bit crowded with the dots and also dark. Not yet the fresh look i think of. (although i will show my wife this evening your entry to ask for a second opinion)

There is no need for "what clients say". As i am not selling anything and the site is already used a lot

I like the tabs for uploading/url. Another tab could be added for 'Create Canvas'.

The text is easy readable (not like my current font

)

Right to the top you added "File | Edit | View etc.."
People will not see that.

So your page could be an index page, but not the editor itself...
For the editor self (where people go to after uploading an image), should be more like:
- glitterfoto <dot> nl
- fotoflexer <dot> com
- picnik <dot> com
- pixer <dot> us
- snipshot <dot> com

Just check out all the menu options at the online-image-editor.com. As you can see there are many menu options. In the new lay-out it needs te be structured too.

I discussed it

We think it's way to crowded. What we both liked is the box for uploading (with the tabs), and the small thumbs with the examples.

For the rest we think it is to crowded, and the color scheme to dark...

Hi MrNova,

Your color difference between the background and the text is much alike. So the text is difficult readable (especially for people who have already problems with colors). Then 3 blocks (below the title) take up to much space. (and a lot of space not used there). But much better then your first entry...

It's not really a modern and cheerfull design. However the image used is beautifull

@Kate
The second one is better with colours.
Likes:
- Upload box
- Example box

Dislikes:
- The huge photo of the child. (Can it be smaller?, from someting else without the extra 'stars' drawn on it)
- The hearts/swirls in the white part (not sure yet if i don't like them on both sides or just on the right site)
- The logo onlineimageeditor is written together, should be online image editor (and can you experiment with more font types (less wide?)
- The thingies (hat and photo's) before the logo onlineimageeditor can go...

Okay...
I think i'll continue just with you Kate.
If you can handle that i am not always quick with reactions. And there is still a lot of work to do.

And off-course the layout of the editor itself has to be made too....
