Graphic Design Contests

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a new website which I've been meaning to do for over a year and am in need of a logo. I don't have any specific preferences when it comes to design but here is what I've got:

Dimensions: 250px wide x 95px high
File types: PSD + Transparent PNG or AI/ESP (highly favorable but I may be able to do this myself)
Prize: $30
Delivery: PayPal
End date: 01/12/10 - If I find the right logo even on the second day I will close the contest. I don't like to waist anyones time.
Requirements: The dimensions are very important other than that you're free to experiment. If you type 'skateboarding logos' in Google images you will get some very good ideas.

It's probably worth mentioning that this is my 3rd contest on these forums.

About the website:

The website is http://skateify.com and it's running Wordpress MU/buddypress so it's a mini social network targeting skateboarders of all ages offering a free blog, profile etc

The white lines are only there as a protection.

That's a fantastic logo my friend. It's basic which is great and at the same time has that 'urban' feel. Is this logo vectorized/could it be a possibility? That's the perfect size for my site but is there any chance of seeing a slightly bigger size? I'd love to get a better view of the colors.

I decided to go for a styalized grafitti look - let me know your thoughts.

I've created the logo in photoshop using vector paths so it can easily be resized to any dimensions without any loss in quality.

I've included the smaller dimension logo you've specified, plus a larger version just so you can see the logo a little more clearly.

I like the idea of a graffiti style logo as it works with skateboarding really well. The only problem I can see with your design is that it's almost too graffiti like and hard to read. If you can somehow make it less swirly it will be in the running.

This is a very nice logo also. Would you be able to make some spacing between the e and i?

That's great news. Am I right to assume the format is ai/eps? The only issue I see (my fault) is that if I display it on a white background the outline will disappear. If I choose your design would it be possible to provide your current design and one with a black outline for the purpose of a white background page. For example I'm also going to replace the wordpress logo with it below:

I can provide a version with a darker outline for sure

I'll show you that when I get back home this evening! Is there anything else you would like me to change or add?

The format is AI and I can send you a PNG format also or any other web format, as you will ask.

Here is a preview on your site, I've modified the blue a bit so it fits the color of your site, and I've make the purple closer to a blue. I've also modified a bit the line below the logo. I've also made other versions.

Thanks very much for that. I like the new color change allot but still prefer the first version

Contest update

I'm really eager to get this new site up and running so if there isn't any more interest in this contest I'll choose a winner tomorrow. If anyone is in the process/plans to submit an entry let me know and I'll be happy to wait.
