I am helping out a little church school with their site. They don't have a big budget, but also don't need anything very fancy. This is the current logo and banner:

They don't have the original working file for the logo, and some of the text needs changed - thus the main reason for a "redesign." They are fine keeping the intertwining of the C and L to make a cross, indicating this is a church school, but perhaps an updated, nicer looking version. I am even thinking somehow just using CLS in the "logo" part instead of repeating the wording "Crest Lane".

If you can come up with a new/different way to incorporate "Seventh-Day Adventist School" in the logo, that would be nice. Would also be interested in seeing what "Seventh-Day Adventist Christian School" would look like - if maybe that would fit better into the design (depends on what you do with it). If someone really wanted to add some sort of school graphic in there, I would consider that as well - just not sure what to ask for.

Their website (www.crestlane.org) is mainly blue, with some yellow and green currently on the front page. Perhaps if some of that color could be added in that would be nice as well so it could be added in throughout the site to spice it up a bit. Please be sure the blue at least ties in with the site design.

Instead of repeating the "A Seventh-Day Adventist School" as the tagline, replace that with "Educating for Eternity." Westminster, MD can be left out as well.

They would like to be able to use the logo itself (without the name/tagline) on printed flyers and such. Perhaps even a banner - so a vector image would be great. Please also include any font files used.

Let me know if I left anything out!

No, it's not terribly urgent. In fact, I'm extending the deadline til next week. I have to take some ideas to the school board which meets on Monday night, so I'll either announce a winner on Tuesday the 11th or ask for a few changes. Thanks!

@ nguyen - I kinda of like that shield in your first design - interesting idea. In the second design, I don't really care for the font. Please note - it's Crest Lane (not Land).

@ iditevzhopu - Nice design - I'll take that to the board!

@ S-Tan - I think this is just a little too basic, thanks. And while the C and the L do cross, it's not apparent that it's a "cross."

@ Bri13 - thanks for your interest, but this graphic doesn't appear to be of good quality - I'm not sure how to say that correctly. It's not crisp or clear. You have the idea with the cross, but the C and L are just too big making the design too big overall.

I'd like to see someone do the same basic thing as in the original logo but replace the word "Elementary" with "Christian".

mala - nice, clean work. The first logo, although it looks nice, doesn't ever spell out the school name, which I think it needs somewhere. It's also green which doesn't go with the site design.

The second logo I like better - please correct the second word in the school to say LANE. I like how you've included 3 lines to get all the information in. The colors also need to be adjusted in this one to fit the site design. Would love to see an update to this.
