Looks like a fairly big job, if I took it on I'd have to look into appropriate e-commerce systems and that would obviously affect any quoted price, for example something paypal based would be cheap to implement, but probably look less professional. Whereas the shopping basket/checkout systems tend to require an upfront payment or subscription fee.
I'd code the site in PHP/MySQL and include a backend content management system for easy update.
A project like this will take around 2 weeks working full-time, so i'd set a minimum of £400, but that obviously depends on a number of variables, I'd say the £500+ quote is quite realistic for a job of this size.
