Graphic Design Contests

Im trying to promote my forum, so I'm going to run a promotion that the first 10 members to reach 500 posts gets entered in a draw to win a Top 100 DVD of their choice. Im looking for something that I can pop up when visitors view my page in order to encourage them to join and post.

What Im looking for is someone to design me the image, has to be noticable, catchy, but not too "flashy", needs to convey that its not an external pop up, and convey the theme quickly and simply.

OR

Some ideas as to what the image COULD be.....

Im afraid I cannot pay at present, but I will post a banner back link to your site free of charge for 6 months.

Hey, if you want a popup that will popup when guests visit your forum to try and encourage them to join.. Here is a script for you:

"This hack will add a popup, suggesting to your guests, that they register for your forums.

Easily edited template for your own modification, colors, wording, etc."

good luck getting people to race for 500 posts. maybe you want to start it out a little lower. ive tried running similar contests on my site with no luck.

just to give you an idea of how well mine went i was only shooting for 125 posts. no one got close before i decided to just shut down the promotion, and the forums all together. one of these days ill put them back up and try again. i get quite a few visitors to my website so i know that wasnt the problem either. i also gave people incentive to post in the forums with my contest. i know people saw the contest and people viewed the posts in the forums. i still recieved mediocore sign ups, and little to no posting. i say you just have to plan on being very active in the forums your self. that will help keep things moving. make a few fake accounts and post under their names also. good luck tho. forums are tough to get going but once they are moving they take care of themselves.

Im finding that. Im very active myself, not a post goes unanswered by me, and Im posting several new articles/posts per day at least. Might drop right down to 100 posts for comp. Have recruited all my mates on, but even they dont post so much despite knowing how important it is for me! :bang: :woo:

oh well, gotta go dig up more articles

After playing around with that phpbb hack, I've afeeling it wont work. A lot of my users are on FireFox which blocks the pop-up. Not sure how to get around that now......
