Graphic Design Contests

Hi all,

I am currently working on a new student travel site and need a header/banner/logo design to build the site around. I would ask that you guys/gals be creative and try and come up with something unique.

The site will cater to student travelers so it needs to be fun yet high tech to rival the competition. The site will offer rail passes, hostel booking and general backpacker information.

I want a color scheme similar to this:

but I am open to suggestions

The Title of the site is "The Backpacker Boat" and will be located at www.backpackerboat.com

I will run this contest until April 4th and choose a winner on that day.

THE WINNER WILL GET THIS

I do not have a lot of funds to throw at this "contest" so here is what I can offer

Nac, your getting somewhere and fast! Lets try something different with the font color and maybe see if you can throw in a backpacker somewhere. The size is perfect.

Gramma, those fonts are just doing something weird. I REALLY like the backpacker and train pics, but it would be difficult to build the site down with the ends of the header like that. IE: I dont really know how I could extend the site from a picture or a gold ring but I like the concept.

Hi zman,

I recently submitted to a contest, only to find that the contest holder had made a decision before seeing some of our submissions. My time is not extremely valuable

- but I sure hate to waste it.

I will trust you, on your April 4th. decision date. I'll get to work on it and submit here before the deadline.

Not bad Cannon, not bad at all.

Let me throw in a few more details for you guys/gals. When I say backpacker, I am speaking of the travel style backpacker. More city life is the aim as I am selling hostel beds and rail passes. Outdoors is good, but I am aiming for the city style travelbackpacker. Hope this helps.

Cannon, try something with a European feel instead of the mountains if you want.

As a side note Cannon your color scheme on the text was spot on. I really like the yellow you threw into the "com". Good job!

Im actually playing with each to see what I can come up with. I'll toss out some comments when I get a chance to weigh all options later today. Keep in mind we still have until Monday on this.
