not sure what the going rate is, but id be willing to pay a little if it turned out really good

Well, I personally charge $40/hour. And In actuallity it's not expensive considering how much people have charged. When it comes to logos, it's expected that this will be a branding that will go everywhere. And Design companies charge a large amount almost as if it's a "prepaid" royalty cost. A logo is an additional reason people make a purchase or get people to notice them. It's like an advertisement. If your logo looks bad, or not clean/tidy people may feel less apt to buy from you as opposed to the people who have a nice clean look who look like they really mean business.

i agree also that it shuoldnt take 2 hours, i could create it in 5 mins also, but it takes creativity to design it which I dont have, that why Im here asking....

It may take about 5 minutes to replicate someone else's work, but the 2 hours might have been "creating" the artwork/graphic. I would seriously doubt that someone could "create" a new logo in 5 minutes.

Here is my try at this. All colors can be changed. Everything is vector and custom drawn by me. If you like this, you can have it for $15. I will send you the .png file and also include the .jpg and .gif formats.

Honestly guys this is ridiculous, professional design companies don't tend to charge that much!

If it is an identity you are looking for you should bear in mind that if you are adding it to any printed media it should really be 2 colour.. i just threw this together in 10 minutes as an example of something you should perhaps be looking for.

If you are interested in something like this i would happily give it to you for free (amends can be made if you like).

I didnt think $15 dollars was really that much. I guess I can go down to $10. If you dont like this logo, I can work on another one for you. Are there any preferences you have, or have you come up with any ideas you would like to see on your logo?

no i'm sorry, that seems perfectly reasonable. I just don't think $80 is reasonable for a logo which to be perfectly honest isn't all that good.
