Graphic Design Contests

Hi due to first successful contest held for www.flashzor.com, I am going to host the second competition here again (sponsored by TeknoRhino.com). The first contest was won by Marco and he is indeed a gifted graphic artist and I am looking forward to working with him on other projects. He did it so well that he earned the bonus $, so the final came out greater than $20. I will only provide bonus if the artists have out done what I expected. This particular contest is about making a logo for a mobile ring tones and games downloading site called www.hotringtone.net (the site is not up yet). The logo should be around 800x100 and also the banner size.

Please use the following colors: Red, Yellow and some black (white if necessary).
If you deem other colors necessary to add into the theme, please go ahead and if it looks great, there will be no objections. Please remember what the site is for and please remember to express the ".net" aspect in the logo design. I have already envisioned using a spider net as part of the design. I don't have any previously designed logo for you to see, but remember the following elements "HOT", "cellular tones and games" and also it is a "dot net" extention.

Ok here is my entry. First the logo I tried to make it look like a spider web that 'caught' a volume icon. Next, those red things on the "hot" are little flames, and smoke rising. In the word ringtone the "volume icon" serves as the "o"

Day 1 summary for the competition:

(1) Marco: Nice design. The symbol right before "Hot", i would use a brighter red color. Also, if you can somehow work in the spidernet image into the symbol.. i think we may have a winner here. Also, you may want to bring the "symbol" a bit closer to the "HotRingtone.net". can you capitalize "t" in "tone"? It looks great. Keep working on it.

(2) Fed: nice concept and color presentation. Needs some work. Try another version? Thanks!

okay, here is my entry! It took a lot longer than I expected, but everything is vector and custom drawn by me. I hope you like it!

I will have to sleep on this one. I like your first one and the second one as well. Perhaps try a version that integrates both versions? I like your first symbol (to the left) better then the second one (with a cell phone). I like the spider net on the second version. I also like the slogan. nice work.

Sorry nac. The forums had problems and stuff got erased. This thread was originally 4 pages long. Anyway contest is over, I was the lucky winner by unanimous vote.
