Graphic Design Contests

Being relatively new to graphic design I'm not quite sure about certain things to do with usage of images/photos.

I have been looking at 'royalty free' sites that offer photos and images for personal and commercial use. Except if you use them for commercial use then you cannot sell your design with that photo in. I understand why this is but are there any plces where you can get images to use as backgrounds etc without having to worry about being stung for copyright naughtiness?

well it depends on how you are gonna use this artwork i believe that you can use it to design websites,flyers etc printed materials u just can't resell a product that has the image in it ... like a website template design .
