hi im new to this forum (nice by the way ) i was just wondering what all of you people use to make a logo.. what programme do you use.
can you tell me if adobe photoshop is good for logos.
please reply,
Mogloo
fireworks is a macromedia program, same as dreamweaver - it's expensive. It does pretty much the same thing as photoshop but I learned photoshop first so I'm more comfortable with it - some of the tools I find easier to use in fireworks so I'll flip after I've done the design if I need to but mostly I use fireworks to turn an image into a webpage. check www.macromedia.com - maybe there's a trial download?

Photoshop's potential is almost limitless, with the user being able to create some fantastic images relatively easily, but I tend to sway toward Paint Shop Pro (7 and 9).
Just as an example of Photoshop's power, the image below took 40 seconds to create.
Well there are a few new features, but it is essentially the same. The same can be said about Flash 8; it has some GREAT new features, but they aren't really worth paying the large upgrade fee for.

I use Macromedia fireworks MX and Adobe Illustrator. I also have Adobe Photoshop, but for doing logos, I prefer to use fireworks or illustrator.
There are tutorials for all of these programs all over the internet. Just do a search for tutorials on the program you choose to use.
Samples of logos I have made are on my website at www.decoratemyweb.com
I have only been designing logos for about a year now.
